Hello, my name is Dashama Gordon and I am a Registered Yoga Instructor and Certified Personal Fitness Trainer.
I teach private yoga classes in Boca Raton and the surrounding area (Deerfield Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Delray Beach and Coral Springs, FL).

I have a small studio in downtown Boca Raton, located at 301 E Royal Palm Rd. #1A Boca Raton, FL 33432 Location is East of US Hwy 1 off of Palmetto Park Rd.



The styles I teach are:

Power Yoga, Sivananda, and my own mixed Hatha Anusara-like style.
I am also Certified and currently offering Thai Yoga Therapy (which combines the best of yoga, massage, and Reiki energy healing for a total therapuetic, rejuvenating, and meditative experience).


I customize all private yoga sessions to the individual's needs. Most of my clients/students have been training with me for at least 6 months, 2-4 times per week for an hour to 1.5 hours per session. Some clients, who are seeking the fitness benefits of yoga, also adhere to my dietary, exercise, and lifestyle recommendations. This enables them to see rapid results, both in weight loss, fat loss, increased energy and overall improved quality of life. fish yoga pose
My clients seeking weight loss typically practice a vigorous power yoga style.What Rodney Yee refers to as "the slow burn", which is a challenging asthanga based power yoga, where the asanas are held for longer periods of time, than would be held in a vinyasa flow class for example. Emphasis is on ujjaya breathing to awaken and strengthen the core, proper alignment and mindfulness in each moment.Students are taught to sense when they are pushing themselves too hard, or when they could possibly go deeper. Awareness of bandhas, postural alignment, and spinal elongation is emphasized. Classes are designed with the student in mind, daily, to ensure they are always getting what they need for that session .For weight loss, clients are encouraged to exercise and practice some asanas during the "off" days when we are not working together. The degree to which they adhere to this recomendation is directly coorelated with the results they experience. They are discouraged from "weighing" themselves on a scale on a regular basis, since the weight loss that is acheived through yoga is generally gradual and permanent, as lifestyle habits evolve and improve. Some clients I have worked with have lost a considerable (50+ lbs) amount of weight through practicing yoga. This was achieved with hard work, dedication, and determination. There is no fat loss pill, but yoga can be magic if you follow the guidance of a skilled and trained instructor/teacher.
